#45 - The Black Experience with my Black Best Friend From High School

Journey to Personal Excellence (57).png

I recently was able to  reconnected to with best friend from high school, Jessica! Not only was it the most amazing reunion, but it so naturally fell back into this perfect place filled with love, acceptance, and autonomy.

We shared so many stories and got caught up on where each other are in life. But of all the things we talked about, we spent the majority of our time together talking about her experience as a Black Woman in America, and why it is important to share Black Stories.

I hope that over the past several weeks, you have been having powerful and eye-opening conversations with people from all walks of life. I hope, that like me, you have learned a lot about the Black Experience in America, and how we, as a whole nation, can stand up in solidarity, in unity with one another, for justice and peace for all.

I know that sounds extremely political, but in actuality, I hope we are all taking this time to stay educated, connect with others, listen to the experiences and stories from people who look and believe differently than us, and stay open to being re-educated.

I hope you take the time to hear 1 Black Woman's Experience (my best friend from high school, Jessica.)  This is just 1 Black Person's Experience, and each and every single human has experienced different things when it comes to racism. So it is important to hear others stories, and share other's stories.

In this episode we talk about a variety of different topics pertaining to the black experience including:

  • Jessica's Unique Experience as a Black Woman

  • My personal experiences with racism, including people we went to high school with

  • Colorism

  • The Victim Mindset

  • Influence

  • White Privilege

  • Race

  • Cops

  • All Lives Matter

  • Black Lives Matter

  • The importance of educating yourself

  • The importance of listening to other's stories

  • The importance of the space that you take up in this world

  • Our theory of how we can start the END OF RACISM.
